**BOLD is honored to host a reading and discussion with authors Mary Klinger and Anne Gudger on Mary's recently released memoir, *More Owen: Searching for Traces of a Son Gone Too Soon*.** In 2019, **[Mary Klinger](https://www.moreowen.org/index.htm)** suffered the traumatic loss of her 18-year-old son Owen. Writing about the experience of loving and losing Owen, and her new reality, helps Mary keep going after the shredding of her heart. Mary studied English and Music at the University of Notre Dame and lives in Portland, Oregon, with her husband Dustin and their rescue pup, Almond. **[Anne Gudger](https://www.annegudger.com/)** is a Portland writer who has been published in *Newsweek*, *Real Simple Magazine*, *The Rumpus*, *Slippery Elm*, *NAILED Magazine*, *Entropy*, *Tupelo Press*, Atticus Review, *The Timberline Review, Columbia Journal, Sweet Lit, Cutbank, Cutthroat, The Normal School, The Los Angeles Review*, and elsewhere.
