Improve Your Fiction Writing with Edward Morrow Join Edward Morrow, an ISA Certified Arborist and author of TREE S.T.A.R.S., a collection of fiction and creative nonfiction stories set in Atlanta that introduce readers to the tree care industry. In this interactive workshop, you'll learn a collaborative approach to strengthening your fiction writing through a unique, color-coded visual exercise designed to help writers see their stories through the eyes of their readers. You'll explore how to build your story using four essential elements: Plot Character Description Setting Backstory And how to deliver those elements through four storytelling techniques: Dialogue Action Narration Interiority This systematic approach helps improve the flow of information while enhancing the art of "showing, not telling" to create more engaging and immersive stories. Participants will have opportunities to write during class and are encouraged to bring their own works in progress for feedback. Edward Morrow, an ISA Certified Arborist and author, created TREE S.T.A.R.S., a collection of fiction and creative non-fiction stories based in Atlanta that educate readers about the tree care industry. Get ready to improve your fiction writing in a collaborative Teaching Process: You’ll learn how to use four distinct elements to compose your writing (Plot, Character Description, Setting, & Backstory) with four instruments (Dialogue, Action, Narration, & Interiority) to systematize the flow of information, while enhancing the art of “showing” to really pull your readers into your story. This is done with a color-coded, visual exercise that helps writers “see” their story from the eyes of their reader. Attendees will write in class; however, they can bring their stories for feedback.
