About this event
Join us for the August Adventure Ride (Waldo Canyon Road). August 16, 2026. We will meet at 9:00 at the Smiths on Tramway and Central (200 Tramway Blvd SE, Albuquerque, NM 87123). Pre-ride briefing will be at 9:15 with a firm KSU at 9:30 AM. From there we will travel on old route 66 to Tijeras, jump on 14, and go north towards Madrid. Past Golden, we will take a left on County Road 57A/301. We will travel 57A/301 to I-25 (junction of Highway 22 and I-25). We will take I-25 north for eight (8) miles and take the Waldo Canyon Road exit. We will travel on Waldo Canyon Road to Cerrillos, and stop for lunch at the Black Bird Saloon. After lunch, we will travel back to Albuquerque via Highway 14, etc. Total saddle time will be approximately three hours. This is a shorter ride than normal because of the summer heat and monsoons. **This ride includes miles of gravel and dirt roads—not suitable for road bikes or three-wheelers. The off-road portions are generally not too technical; however, after heavy rains they can be a little challenging, but manageable. Large ADV bikes should be fine.**
