Join Teacher of the Deaf, Kristen Urban, for a fun and welcoming introduction to American Sign Language (ASL)! This 4-week beginner course is designed for families and any others who want to learn basic everyday signs and creating a foundation of knowledge in ASL. No prior experience is needed. Participants will learn through interactive activities, visual demonstrations, and simple conversations in a supportive community setting. Topics Covered Include: The ASL alphabet and fingerspelling Greetings and introductions Family members and relationships Numbers, colors, and common everyday vocabulary Simple sentence structure Deaf culture awareness Practice with beginner-level signing and receptive skills All materials will be included in the course!
