Campbell Room, Shirlington Library. Welcome Incubator Artist Kathryn Coneway to Shirlington Library! Arlington Public Library spotlights local artists through the Incubator program so that a greater number of diverse perspectives can be seen and more voices can be heard. Join us for a brief talk and reception with artist Kathryn Coneway on her series of paper cuts on display at Shirlington Library. Refreshments and Q & A will follow the talk. Kathryn Coneway says about her series: The title for this series, “Mother Trees” is inspired by ecologist, Suzanne Simard, who researches connections between trees in the forest and describes the mother trees as the oldest and most connected, the ones who nurture others. The voices I celebrate are those that have been most influential in my own journey of finding solace and sanctuary in nature. I hope these voices will offer moments of peace and pause to viewers as they have for me. REGISTRATION RECOMMENDED: First-come, first-served seating. By registering, you will receive email updates.
