About this event
Join us for an online Zoom meet-up (https://uic.zoom.us/j/85263027960?pwd=42xvqB5iLi9ANqvn1nk7jIPhNsoPx2.1&from=addon) where we will explore art while practicing Polish. This session is designed for beginner learners who want to expand their vocabulary through works of art from the Art Institute’s collection. We will learn and practice words for colors, shapes, lines, patterns, and other basic descriptive language. Using eight well-known artworks, such as A Sunday on La Grande Jatte, Paris Street; Rainy Day, and Nighthawks, we will describe what we see, ask simple questions, and build confidence speaking Polish. Along the way, you will learn practical vocabulary for visiting museums, discussing paintings, or simply talking about visual art. No background in art history is required. The emphasis is on communication and learning new vocabulary at the A1 level.
