About this event
Enjoy a presentation by Kelly from the Prison Book Program at the opening night of “Art From the Inside”! Where does the American prison system stand today? What strategies are there for rehabilitation and prevention? Why do books matter in prison? Discuss the important topic of access to books in the context of mass incarceration with Kelly, Executive Director at Quincy’s Prison Book Program. “Art From the Inside” is a curated collection of artwork sent to the Prison Book Program by incarcerated people over the course of its 54-year history. “Art From the Inside” is available for viewing in the 3rd floor art gallery at the Downtown Library during the month of October.
