Join us on an Architectural Walking Tour in Manhattan, focusing on Women’s History, and led by an architect. This walk will be followed by social gathering at a local cafe! During the walk, the tour leader will talk about specific women who lived along East 90th street on the Upper East Side at the turn of the century (1890s), and the buildings that they lived in. The walk will be a 1.1 miles downhill stroll from 5th Avenue, along 90th Street, to Carl Schurz Park (by the river). Duration: about 90 minutes - starting and ending near various bus and subway lines. What to Bring: sunscreen, and an interest in history. Starting Location: We will start at the southwest corner of 5th Avenue and 90th Street. There is a curved stone bench at this location that is part of Engineers Gate entrance to Central Park. This meeting location is just across the street from The Church of the Heavenly Rest. Change in elevation: 50 feet Punctuality: We will wait till 2:10pm and then start walking.
