The Friends Room. Join the Newport Public Library and the Aquidneck Island Intertribal Indian Council to observe National Native American Heritage Month! This presentation will include discussions of history, including show and tell and music. ********************************************************************************** About: The Aquidneck Island Intertribal Indian Council was established October 14 2007 as a non-profit organization for religious and educational purposes and is registered with the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations Attorney General. This council is a volunteer organization and is established as a peaceful & coherent intertribal council, with few Rules & Regulations, whereby all members may have an equal say in the operations & functions of said council, and all members may enjoy the company of other peoples of the same interest. This council is also established to promote the knowledge of Native American (Indian) heritage and ancestry, of mixed Nations, and to promote community awareness whenever possible, through; ceremonies, historical teachings, crafts, storytelling and/or drumming & singing. Note: The Aquidneck Island Intertribal Indian Council is a non-profit volunteer organization for the preservation of mixed Native American Tribal Heritages and Ancestral ways and makes no claims as to be an authority nor expert on any specific Tribe or Nation.
