“An Organ Odyssey”

Dr. Sabrina Adrian, organist at First Presbyterian Church in Kerrville, will perform An Organ Odyssey: A Programmatic Recital, on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public. A free-will offering will be accepted to support the church’s music ministry. Adrian describes the program as “a transcendent musical voyage across 10 masterworks, mapping Odysseus’s decade-long journey home.” According to the organist, this is a departure from traditional recital formats, in that An Organ Odyssey tracks the mythical journey of Odysseus from the smoldering ash of Troy back to his kingdom of Ithaca. “The program weaves together disparate historical eras, matching the absolute architectural clarity of J.S. Bach’s legendary Toccata and Fugue in D Minor with the impressionistic textures of Louis Vierne’s Naïades and the dramatic, volcanic power of Modest Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain,” Adrian said.
