Using a variety of guitars, electronics, & bow, Tim will take you on a mesmerizing journey painting with sound, playing & singing songs, telling stories, creating surreal soundscapes, and performing cyclical improvisations with his large-scale paintings serving as an interactive backdrop for your eyes and ears. This performance brings Tim's music and art together for what is sure to be a spectacular evening. Come and see the show.Tim Motzer, recognized by Guitar Player and listed by Prepared Guitar among the top 100 modern guitarists worldwide, is a sonic pioneer known for his textural acoustic‑electro approach and over two decades of global touring, 12 solo soundscape albums, and 100+ recording credits. He has collaborated with artists across genres including David Sylvian, Les Nubians, Isaac Hayes, Jaki Liebezeit, Ursula Rucker, King Britt, Vernon Reid, David Torn, Questlove, and Percy Jones, with his co‑production on Sister Gertrude Morgan featured in major films and TV. Motzer has toured with Kenny Lattimore, Les Nubians, and poet Ursula Rucker, appearing at festivals such as Montreux, Montreal, Punkt, Trans‑Musicales, and Amnesty International’s Australia/New Zealand tour. He has performed with Bandit65—whose album earned a five‑star DownBeat review—and with PAKT, while running his 1k Recordings imprint, home to 75+ genre‑defying releases praised by WXPN as “unique and unpredictable.” Tim is a sought‑after live composer and improviser for modern dance who has collaborated internationally with leading choreographers and festivals, including Peggy Baker, Faustin Linyekula, MODAFE in Seoul, ActionDanse in Morocco, and the Limón Dance Company, where his acclaimed score for Only One Will Rise was praised by The New York Times for its live, funky Afropop energy.
