Averie started Keeping Together in 2019 as a small beer project in Chicago. In 2022, she and Pat made the call to leave Chicago and build a permanent home for the brand in Santa Fe. They took over a 40-year-old greenhouse that used to be Santa Fe Greenhouses and Waterwise Gardening, and turned it into one of the more unique taprooms around — all while surviving a setback that wiped out most of their original brewing equipment. This is a story about building something from scratch, relocating a business across the country, and getting a physical space open against real odds.
