American Patchwork Quartet are giving new life to traditional American music and they’re sharing it with the Mineral Point Opera House on Thursday, February 11th, at 7:30 pm. Doors open at 7:00. Advance tickets are $30 in the balcony, $35 for the lower level, and $40 for the first two rows and boxes (plus taxes and fees). Ticket prices increase by $5 on the day of the show. Friends of the MPOH can purchase tickets on September 18th at 10:00 am; the general public can purchase tickets on October 2nd at 8:00 am. American Patchwork Quartet brings together four extraordinary musicians to explore the rich, diverse tapestry of American music. The group features Grammy-winning vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Falu, acclaimed guitarist and producer Clay Ross, Grammy-winning bassist Yasushi Nakamura, and renowned percussionist Clarence Penn. Together, they reimagine traditional American songs through a vibrant blend of folk, jazz, blues, country, and global musical influences. At the heart of American Patchwork Quartet is a celebration of the many cultures and voices that have shaped the American musical landscape. The band takes songs drawn from the American folk tradition—including spirituals, work songs, hymns, and traditional ballads—and gives them fresh arrangements that reflect the country’s extraordinary cultural diversity.
