A songwriter first and foremost, her perceptive writing reaches far beyond her 23 years. Born and raised in Sumner, Washington, the self-proclaimed “Rhubarb Pie Capital of the World,” Day discovered music at an early age. She experimented on piano, ukulele, and drums before beginning to write songs as a teenager. What started as angsty preteen songwriting quickly evolved into a confident artistic voice. After overcoming stage fright in college, Day began performing her original music at farmers markets and local restaurants. Those early performances led to sold-out shows in Seattle, Boston, and Washington, D.C., as well as festival appearances at Bumbershoot, Capitol Hill Block Party, Folklife Festival, and Seattle PrideFest.
