About this event
About About: The Algorithmic Trading & Investing Club empowers FSW students to learn markets the modern way—through data, code, and disciplined strategy. We blend financial literacy with hands-on tools (TradingView, Python/Jupyter, QuantConnect, Excel/Google Sheets) so members can design, backtest, and simulate strategies across stocks, futures, forex, and crypto. Our mission is to promote financial literacy, ethical investing, and data-driven decision-making through education, simulation, and collaboration. Why should you join? 1.Hands-on learning: Build, test, and iterate strategies using real datasets and simulated trading—no prior experience required. 2.Career readiness: Strengthen skills in Python, statistics, and risk management that translate to roles in finance, analytics, and software. 3.Ethical focus: Learn responsible investing practices, risk controls, and compliance-minded habits. 4.Accessibility: Hybrid meetings (Zoom + on-campus workshops) and recorded tutorials make it easy to participate from anywhere.5.Community: Collaborate with peers from business, computer science, and data analytics in team projects and competitions. What we do: •Weekly Skill Labs: Technical analysis, indicators, portfolio construction, and position sizing. •Backtesting Workshops: From hypothesis - dataset - code - metrics - iterate. •Strategy Studios: Small teams build and compare strategies (momentum, mean reversion, pairs trading, options overlays). •Guest Speakers: Quants, portfolio managers, fintech founders, and FSW alumni. •Simulated Trading League: Monthly paper-trading challenge with rules, leaderboards, and debriefs. •Finance Tech Stack: TradingView Education Program, Python (pandas/NumPy), QuantConnect/Zipline, Google Colab/Sheets.
