About this event
Award-winning educator, sexuality researcher and podcaster Jane Fleishman, PhD, MEd, MS, CSE delivers an egaging talk Ain’t No Stopping Us Now: The Pleasures and Pitfalls of Sexuality as We Age. As we age, we know ourselves and our bodies better. Yet societal taboos against discussing sexuality—especially when it comes to older adults—can make these discussions awkward. Fleishman says there “ain’t no stopping us now” as we age sexually. Sexual challenges may increase distress but if we can embrace the awkward, we will find our way to new heights of sexual pleasure. This workshop will offer a unique opportunity for frank discussion. As a seasoned sexuality professional, our presenter will apply current research and resources, offer tips and toys for older adults. And we will have ample time for questions and confidential discussion about sexuality-related issues. Join us for an enjoyable and unique afternoon! RSVP requested. Jane Fleishman earned her PhD at Widener University Center for Human Sexuality Studies at the age of 62. On a mission to promote sexual wellness in older adults, she is particularly concerned about LGBTQ elders and elders of color. Her curious nature led to her latest accomplishment, a Nautilus Book Award winner The Stonewall Generation: LGBTQ Elders on Sex, Activism, and Aging. She co-hosts a regular podcast on sex, Our Better Half, about sex in the second half of life and recently completed a popular TEDx talk, Is It OK for Grandma to Have Sex?
