About this event

Why AI is Our Ultimate Test and Greatest Invitation? This is a free and open event - we’ll watch a video and learn together, then discuss our opinions. You’ll come away with a better understanding of AI and develop your own ideas about this transformational technology. Is AI ‘inevitable’? During this event, we’ll watch a video of Tristan Harris, co-founder of Center for Humane Technology, who explores AI’s profound implications, and makes the case for responsible development and greater societal awareness to avoid mistakes we’ve made in the past. After the screening, we’ll have a facilitated discussion so you can weigh in with your own thoughts, concerns, and hopes. Whether you’re an expert or simply trying to understand what living in a world driven by AI looks like, this is an excellent opportunity to discuss an important technology and its effects on your community. Accessibility Need sign language interpretation or other accessibility assistance for this event? Please call (312) 747-8184 or email access@chipublib.org to request accommodations.
