Examine feminist practices in contemporary Cuban art during a lecture by Dr. Jasmine Kaur Chohan, assistant curator of contemporary British art at Tate Britain. Presented in conjunction with “Layered Lives,” the lecture considers how Cuban women artists have addressed materiality, spirituality, migration, ecology and historical memory since the 1990s. Chohan will discuss artists including Belkis Ayón, Sandra Ramos, Mabel Poblet, Rocío García and Aimée García. A reception follows the lecture.
