Adult Field Trip: Lemont Water Reclamation District

Ages 18 . Tour the Lemont Water Reclamation Plant of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago. Learn how the plant works every day to mitigate flooding and convert wastewater into valuable resources like clean water, phosphorus, biosolids, and natural gas. More information and a waiver will be emailed once registered. This program is an IPPL cardholder exclusive. One registration per library card number. Multiple registrations per cardholder are not allowed. All adults must supply a clear copy of their state-issued ID or passport for a security check. They collect signed waivers from every visitor. The walking tours occur in the rain or shine, so please dress for the weather. Additionally, we will visit an industrial working environment, so long pants and sturdy shoes are required.
