The Vermilion County Museum Society, 116 N. Gilbert Street, Danville, IL, 61832, will be having a special Abe’s Anglers: Fishing with Lincoln event in partnership with Looking for Lincoln and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources on Saturday, September 12, 2026. This event will be held at Kickapoo State Park at Clear Pond near Kickapoo Adventures, from 10:00 AM to Noon (check in will start at 9:30). This is a FREE event for children ages 5-12. Pre-registration is required as there are limited spots for this event and children must have a parent or guardian stay with them for the duration of the event. All poles and needed supplies will be provided. To register, you may call the Museum during regular business hours (Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM) at 217-442-2922. The deadline for registration is Tuesday, September 8th.
