Meeting Room AB (BN). At the onset of the French & Indian War in 1754, most American colonists were quite content and proud to be subjects of the British Empire. The bonds which connected them were substantial: language, culture, legal and political traditions and the cherished rights of Englishmen. How then, in the span of two decades, did formerly loyal subjects become revolutionaries who sought to overthrow imperial rule and achieve a sovereign state? This program chronicles the series of actions which will lead to the Declaration of Independence in 1776. This program is part of America250 celebration.
