Meeting Room, Airway Heights. Registration is required. To register, call 509.777.1571 This series of sessions is designed for older adults who are concerned about falling. Learn strategies to set realistic goals for increasing activity and to identify environmental adjustments to reduce risk factors. Discover how gentle movement can increase flexibility, strength, and balance and how a shift in viewpoint can make falls more controllable. Small groups meet for eight (8) sessions of group discussion, problem-solving, brainstorming, and gentle exercises. Each participant receives a workbook. Community Partners: SHIBA & ALTCEW Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors (SHIBA) provide free, unbiased, and confidential counseling services and are part of the Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner. SHIBA is a statewide network of trained volunteers who advocate for and assist consumers with Medicare. Aging & Long Term Care of Eastern Washington (ALTCEW) is the local sponsor of SHIBA and provider of Medicare education. ALTCEW also provides education and support on the topics of dementia and memory loss, fall prevention, and others. Presented by educators from ALTCEW
