Map enthusiast and fifth-grader Ben Isaac is coping with the loss of his grandmother. After discovering a mysterious map in her coat pocket, Ben and his babysitter travel across Chicago to visit the locations she marked across the city. Along the way, they are introduced to Chicago history, communities, and culture. Inventive, ensemble-driven, and rich with humor and heart, A Map of Me is a vibrant story about identity, coping with grief, and the communities that shape us.
