About this event
Children's Program Room. Join Andrew, a real, live cartographer from The Map Center in Pawtucket, to create a map that will make you rethink how you see the world. Participants will create maps of a common space by imagining that space through the perspective of cats (and other animals). How does a cat view your living room or bedroom? How would you help get a new pet acquainted? How is this type of map different from a big old atlas of the world? And how can we create a map that will best serve the people (or pets) who need it? This event is for children and tweens ages 9 and up. Registration is required due to limited space! Andrew Middleton is a published cartographer, educator and geospatial data analyst. He grew up in Central New York, moved to the West Coast for a career in contracting and consulting and then moved to Pawtucket Rhode Island to become the fourth owner of the oldest map store on the East Coast, the map Center.
