A Charming Christmas at Cannonsburgh – December 12

Cannonsburgh Pioneer Village keeps extended evening hours on six December nights, and it is one of the gentler holiday outings in Rutherford County – no lines, no shrieking, no sensory overload. The historic buildings are lit by candlelight and decorated in rustic period style, so the whole village reads like a Christmas from a century ago. Wandering the grounds you will run into carolers and live music, holiday craft activities, working demonstrations, a spot for children to write letters to Santa, and light displays through the village. Special guests turn up on some evenings. This works especially well for younger children and for grandparents – it is walkable, unhurried and easy to leave early if someone runs out of steam. Bring a flashlight for the walk back to the car and dress warmly, because most of it is outdoors.
