A Burning Giraffe Looking At Iran

A Burning Giraffe Looking At Iran

A Burning Giraffe Looking at Iran portrays a world where surrealism meets romanticism. A fun drama that centers on the collision of the West and the East and on modernism deciphering tradition. The play explores concepts such as lost childhood, missed fatherhood, unconditional friendship, love, solitude, and a very complex sense of identity through the perspectives of generations of Iranians. The show is based on a play by Farhad Ayeesh titled Seven Nights with an Uninvited Guest in New York. Waking up from recurring nightmares of a world about to explode, Sepehr (Zavash Shadmehr) is struggling to write his novel and plans to hang himself at the end of his story. He has isolated himself from the outside world, including his girlfriend, Iran (Marjan Towfighi). But Bahram(Shahin Shakibi), an old friend of his late father, is about to visit him to convey an important message. Proceeds from the play will be donated to the Children of Persia to support children and families in Iran.
