9th Annual Designing for Empathy Summit

About this event

Theme of Summit ’26: Awe & Wonder! An extraordinary experience, something that is otherwise inaccessible to us everyday, or the immediacy of a newly-found perspective on something seemingly ordinary, could shift our entrenched perspectives and paradigms. Such experiences are transformative encounters that can empower us with a better understanding of ourselves, and our interrelatedness within a greater Whole. As we learn through intentionally designed empathy-building experiences, our capacity deepens and increases for expanding our perspectives and our sense of self, through an understanding and appreciation of the diversity of perception and lived experiences that surround us at any given moment. Museums already offer such encounters of awe and wonder. Our question will be: how might we intentionally design such encounters (in and outside museums) where empathy is an intentional outcome that deserves further reflection and contemplation, which then can be translated into positive action? WorldBeat Center is proud to be a co-host for this year’s summit! October 21st 3-5PM at WorldBeat Cultural Center Experience a Healing Community Drum Circle featuring Sufi and spiritual rhythms. This immersive workshop nurtures deep healing, meditative mindfulness, and present-moment awareness while building authentic community connection through the unifying power of collective rhythm and human voice.
