About this event
Play The 80s brought us a new wave of sounds and music genres, and produced hits that still rock the airwaves today. In this music camp, we'll perform hits from artists like Billy Idol, Devo, Cyndi Lauper, Van Halen, Flock of Seagulls, and many more. Monday through Friday will be spent learning and practicing 80s songs, all culminating in a live performance. OPEN TO STUDENTS AGE 11 - 18 Some Previous Instrument Experience Preferred MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY, 9:30AM - 3:30PM DAILY ACTIVITIES OUR CAMPERS WILL PARTAKE IN: Each day will consist of classroom-style learning, hands on review of recording techniques and studio tracking On Friday, campers will be provided the songs they’ve been working on throughout the week for a listening party! UNLESS NOTIFIED OTHERWISE SHOWTIME ON FRIDAY WILL BE BETWEEN 2 & 2:30 Students will need to be picked up on Friday at the school no later than 1:45 for transport to the venue if it is not within walking distance of our location. STUDENTS MUST BRING AND WEAR HEARING PROTECTION AT ALL TIMES WITHIN OUR REHEARSAL ROOMS. Rock music is intended to be played loud and we want to make sure our camper's ears are well protected! We do provide a limited number of isolated headphones and have single use ear plugs available for $1 at the front desk. SUMMER CAMP FAQS Q: DOES MY CHILD NEED TO BRING THEIR OWN INSTRUMENT? A: Keyboards are provided. Provided Guitar & Basses are limited, players are encouraged to bring their own instruments, picks & straps. Drummers must bring their own sticks (drums are provided). For out Recording & Production Camp students must bring their own laptops perferrably with some sort of recording software like Garage Band. Q: DOES MY CHILD NEED TO BRING THEIR OWN LUNCH AND SNACKS? A: Each student is welcome to bring their own lunch, snacks and water each day.
