About this event
Save the date: Sunday, January 31, 2027 from 12 pm to 4 pm. Sunken Gardens is excited to host the fifth annual Plantapolooza, a local botanical event dedicated to Florida native plants. Originated by The Community Wildlife Corridor, this event seeks to connect the wildlife populations in our largest parks with backyard native gardens. Join us as we celebrate the importance and beauty of Florida’s native plants! Shop from local vendors, enjoy themed talks, and meet Tampa Bay organizations working hard to protect our plants and pollinators. We’re proud to collaborate with the Pinellas Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society on this event. Themed lectures Grow a Sustainable Habitat for Florida's Pollinators — Jeremy Rhoden (Urban Horticulture Agent & Master Gardener Coordinator for UF/IFAS Extension Marion County, Statewide Coordinator of the Great Florida Pollinator Census) Native Trees and Why They Belong in Your Landscape — Davis Byrkit (General Manager of Wilcox Nursery and Landscape, a Florida native plant-specialty business, with over 10 years of experience in the native plant industry) ***** Vendor Application - Now open! Click here to apply and learn more about being a vendor. This application will be open until Monday, October 26. Once the application period has closed, our event team will review all submissions. Please expect a response no later than Monday, November 2. Note: Submission of this application does not confirm your spot at Plantapolooza. We would love to accommodate everyone, but available space is limited.
