This program explores the many expressions of love, from intimacy and elegance to intensity and drama. Florence Price’s Overture No. 1, rooted in the spiritual Sinner, Please Don’t Let This Harvest Pass, brings a voice of warmth and depth from the American tradition, while Strauss’s Don Juan offers a virtuosic and bold display of orchestral brilliance. The program culminates in a vibrant Spanish sound world where voice, dance, and orchestra come together. Featuring mezzo-soprano Anabella Petrosi and flamenco dancer Griset Damas Roche, this marks the first time the orchestra presents two female soloists in this context, creating a colorful and immersive musical experience.
