3rd Annual Sustainable Timber Harvesting | Bear Creek Camp in Wilkes-Barre Sunday, September 27, 2026 | 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The 3rd Annual Sustainable Timber Harvesting takes place at Bear Creek Camp in Wilkes-Barre on Sunday, September 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hosted by the Northern Tier Hardwood Association, the event offers an in-the-woods look at Pennsylvania’s forest industry. Visitors can learn about forest health, ecosystems, timber harvesting and secondary manufacturing. Educational stations will focus on forestry, harvesting and manufacturing. Partners include Deer Park Lumber, PA DCNR, the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and local timber harvesting companies. Guests can also explore a vendor pavilion and the PA WoodMobile, a 34-foot traveling forestry exhibit. Food trucks and children’s activities will be available throughout the public event. The Sunday program is open to visitors of all ages and experience levels, from industry professionals to newcomers. The 3rd Annual Sustainable Timber Harvesting in Wilkes-Barre offers a hands-on introduction to sustainable forestry and Pennsylvania’s forest industry.
