Brazilian singer and activist Bia Ferreira spreads messages of feminism, love, and social justice across her native Brazil and beyond. Ghanaian musician, songwriter, and producer Gyedu-Blay Ambolley will headline this year’s festival with his innovative fusion of high-life, Afrobeat, Afropop, funk, and jazz. Be prepared to let loose at the main stage dance floor! Additional performances by Black Voices of Inspiration, Boiler Bhangra, Okinawa Yuyukai, and more. Featured Artists Bia Ferreira Bia Ferreira is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and artivist who has distinguished herself as one of the most powerful voices in the contemporary Latin American music scene. Her art spans music, activism and politics, creating sound discourses that confront structural racism, LGBTphobia, black feminism, love and community affections through a critical and sensitive aesthetic. Bia defines her work as Contemporary Brazilian Music, concepts that place her work as a political and social expression of marginalised bodies and that stem from her own experience. Musically, her work blends elements of soul, blues, reggae, funk, R&B, rap, and references to Brazilian music, dialoguing with Afro- diasporic traditions and languages. Gyedu-Blay Ambolley Gyedu Blay Ambolley is a musical luminary hailing from Ghana, West Africa, with a staggering 29 albums under his belt.
