3 Modern Masters

About this event

Something remarkable happened to residential architecture in the early twentieth century. The traditional house, with its steeply pitched roof, symmetrical façade, formal rooms, and historical ornamentation, began giving way to something entirely different. Rooflines flattened. Walls of glass replaced small windows. Interior walls disappeared, creating open floor plans. And new materials—particularly structural steel, reinforced concrete, and large expanses of glass—gave architects freedoms they had never enjoyed before. Three extraordinary architects helped lead this transformation: **Frank Lloyd Wright, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, and Le Corbusier.** Each had a different philosophy, and each envisioned a radically different way of living. But together, they helped redefine what a modern house could be. And more than a century later, we are still living with their ideas.[Watch my 2-minute architecture video!](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xy71fclotj-KUPSBXcmClAaAe9tiEYfz/view?usp=sharing)
