Fargeorge Nature Preserve](https://gathernewhaven.org/our-programs/preserves/) in New Haven. There will be very little elevation change and this will be a great one for beginners / new people. Sunset is approximately 6:31 pm so bring a light source just and case and arrive on time, as we won't wait long after 5:30. We still should have time to read the many informational panels in the preserve and learn about the nature and history of the property. New people are always welcome! Registration is suggested for communication purposes, but not required. There is no parking right at the trailhead. Free street parking is available on nearby Essex Street so we will meet at the junction of Essex Street and Quinnipiac Ave, have the huddle by 5:35 at the latest, and then walk over to the trail. I am unclear on whether or not dogs are allowed here, it may not be the best hike for them. Meet location/parking approx. coordinates: [41.3172, -72.8763](https://maps.app.goo.gl/MVgfR5gLvdAuAJXdA) Entrance coordinates: [41.3156, -72.8777](https://maps.app.goo.gl/cb1Q4eQQ6ohSc1Pq8) Afterwards depending on group interest, we may reconvene at a nearby restaurant for a meal. **What to bring:** Footwear/water for 1.7 miles on the trail. Snacks / bug spray as needed. Headlamp / light source just in case. **About** Founded in 1876, the [Appalachian Mountain Club](https://www.outdoors.org/) is a non-profit organization that promotes the…
