Jack Hadley Black History Museum | Eleanor Whitte | Tuesday, October 6, 2026, 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. As part of the 2026 Bicentennial Lunch & Learn Speaker Series, Thomas County native Eleanor Whitte will share her remarkable story as a pioneering African American engineer, inventor, and motivational speaker. During her distinguished 35-year career with Xerox Corporation, Whitte was the only African American woman on her project team and rose to serve as a Project Lead System Engineer. She is also a named inventor on a United States patent granted in 1990 for technology that improved copier performance and image quality. Her accomplishments reflect a powerful legacy of perseverance, innovation, and leadership. This program is free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to bring their lunch; light refreshments will be provided. Part of a collaborative Bicentennial series presented by the Thomasville History Center, Jack Hadley Black History Museum, and Pebble Hill Plantation.
