About this event
October is National Disability Employment Awareness month! Join the Johnson County Disability Services Committee in honoring the 81st anniversary of recognizing October as National Disability Employment Awareness Month and 36 years of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The event will be held on the Ped Mall and features a Career & Resource Fair from 12:30-3:30pm highlighting inclusive employers and service providers dedicated to supporting the disability community in Johnson County. In addition, a program runs from 2:00-3:00pm with speakers, entertainment, and awards which provide an opportunity to recognize individuals, businesses, and programs that embody the spirit of the ADA. This event is made possible thanks to the generous support of the City of Iowa City, Hills Bank, Johnson County, University of Iowa Center for Disabilities and Development, and University of Iowa Office of Civil Rights Compliance. Everyone is welcome, and we hope to see you there!
