Take a guided journey through Rye’s wartime years, when Odiorne Point became Fort Dearborn, a fortress guarding the approaches to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard against Atlantic U-boats. Following a slide presentation at the Secoast Science Center, we’ll explore massive concrete batteries, Panama mounts (gun platforms), and enjoy scenic coastal views. Park entry fee may apply.
