About this event

Join us for a unique opportunity to bring urban and rural food, farming and environmental justice work together with farmer/mentor Will Allen at WEI’s Amador Hill Farm and Orchard. 2026 is WEI’s 16th year hosting this collaborative, community-building event! This is a unique, two-day event with camping available at the farm. Join us for Saturday’s farmer-forward panels, hands-on foraging walks, report-outs about what’s happening on the policy front and getting to know regional partners in the fight for safe and sovereign ground! Sunday’s full-day workshop is totally devoted to composting taught by Will Allen. The workshop will demonstrate hands-on use of urban-friendly compost bin and a larger compost winrow, using a scientifically balanced approach to creating nutrient-rich garden beds. These methods transform urban “waste” into rich, healthy soil for producing fresh, nutritious food for our communities. Learn more about Will’s composting methodology in this video. Event schedule and details will be posted closer to the event. In the meantime, sign up for WEI’s newsletter for announcements.
