Morrell Meeting Room. 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Kickoff with Special Guest Charlotte Agell Join us for the launch of our new 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program! This fun, free program encourages families to read 1,000 books together before their child starts kindergarten—one story at a time. Sign-up at the Children's Desk beginning September 12, and continue anytime after that. To help us launch the program, we're delighted to welcome author and illustrator Charlotte Agell as a special guest! Charlotte will celebrate her brand-new book, Just for Today, by reading from it and some of her other books, and she'll create quick sketches of as many children as time allows. All ages are welcome, and children who are sketched can take their sketch home! Throughout September, visit the MMR to see an exhibit of Charlotte's sketches of children.
