Get ready for an evening of Musical Roulette with the Confluence Chamber Orchestra! Like with roulette, you can be sure to expect this concert to surprise and delight with unexpected pieces performed by a chamber orchestra! Come place your bets on which piece will be your favorite, then hear which ones truly are! For those who are able, plan to meet up for dinner before the concert at 5:15 @ Frailey's Southtown Grill on Butler Hill Road. It is only 5 minutes to the church! Best of all, this concert is FREE, with no ticket required! There is free parking as well. Easy accessibility into the church. The Church is located on Butler Hill Road just a couple minutes off I-55 and very easy to get to! There will be reserved seating for our group to sit together! The church has lovely acoustics and cushioned pews! They often host other musical events. Conductor Bill Bauer asked the orchestra members to submit ideas for what we should play this summer, and the results were as diverse as our players. I play viola with the orchestra, and submitted Wichita Lineman for the program! Our selections range from Mozart to Led Zeppelin, with a lot of film favorites in between. Bill dubbed this performance “Musical Roulette.” There’s something for everyone, so everyone’s a winner: Mozart – Haffner Rondo, allegro, Concertmaster, Luke Oliver, soloist Vaughan-Williams – Variations of Dives & Lazarus Carmichael – Stardust Buehler – Tones in Green Mancini – Baby Elephant Walk Schnittke – The Story of an Unknown Actor Bacalov – Il Postino Zimmer – You’re So Cool Powell – How to Train Your Dragon Webb – Wichita Lineman Page, Plant & Bonham (Led Zeppelin) – Kashmir
