Tickets will be available at https://www.seattlejapanesegarden.org/events at the beginning of July 2026. We will meet at the teahouse. If you can't find us, contact Richelle at 253-376-0340. Practiced in Japan for centuries, the art of tea ceremony --also called Chado, or The Way of Tea-- is imbued with harmony, respect, purity, and tranquility. 16th-century master Sen no Rikyu refined Chado, and the Wabi-Sabi aesthetic of simplicity and humility he taught had widespread influence, including on the architecture of tea gardens. Our Shoseian Tea house offers an unparalleled opportunity to experience a 40-minute tea presentation in a traditional roji garden setting. Tickets are $15/person. Reservations are required. Please note: visitors are encouraged to sit on tatami mats, with bench seating available for those unable to do so. They request participants wear socks or tights (no bare feet), and avoid wearing jeans, rings, and personal fragrances. General admission is not included with tea reservation. https://www.seattlejapanesegarden.org/
