Swing Dance to The Peninsulans

This "First Monday" dance event started in June. I've attended both June and July, and had a lot of fun. "The Peninsulans" is an eighteen-piece band. The music is not all swing. There are always a few Latin rhythms and several foxtrots. The crowd is mixed. The dancers range from mid-twenties to mid-seventies. The enthusiastic spectators are older--both from the church and the broader community. The event is free, but please bring $5-$20 for a donation. The dance floor is large (but a bit slow). There's a concession stand for soda/water/snacks. I plan to arrive a few minutes early and hold a table. But even if you arrive late, there are lots of tables and chairs set around the room. Try to arrive in time to get settled before the band starts. They only perform for 90 minutes, with one short break, so you don't want to miss the start. Try to dress 1950's style or a little hip. It adds to the swing-time mood! I've posted photos from last month's dance. One photo shows how to find the dance hall from the parking lot.
