Kirtan with Anthony
Join us for a 90 min guided community event to explore the other kinds of meditation and the devotional aspects of Yogi/Buddhist lineages. Meditation (dhyāna) is a practice to cultivate inner awareness through meditation and breath work. We’ll start with an introduction to accessible techniques and a guided meditation. Chanting & singing (Kirtan) is a practice of communal, devotional music. New and experienced practitioners can participate in guided, group chanting and call-and-response singing accompanied by a harmonium. **Anthony Rocco** Yoga/Buddhism has been woven into my life since childhood, first introduced through the various Southern California communities that were brought the lineages directly from India. Over the years, my practice has been deeply shaped by the disciplined and methodical approach of Patanjali's Ashtanga Yoga and by the powerful and devotional forms of Zen and Tibetan Buddhism. I believe that when you commit fully to your practice, your own body and breath become your greatest teachers. Guided and inspired by the wisdom I’ve received from my teachers, Shayna Liebbe, Megan Bello, Ram Dass, Krishna Das, and many, many others. I invite you to suspend expectations, expand your awareness, and explore practice as a path to the deepest understanding.
